Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion

Early last year the Atlanta High Museum of Art brought an unprecedentedly large-scale exhibit of the work of the Dutch designer Iris van Herpen to the United States (our coverage here). The wildly successful show titled Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion is taking a North American tour with the first stop at the Grand Rapids Art Museum in Michigan, where it opened last Sunday.

The exhibition features 45 haute couture outfits carefully selected from 15 of van Herpen’s collections designed from 2008 through 2015:
18 pieces from the designer’s most recent lines, a selection of her shoe designs and 27 works from van Herpen’s solo exhibition at the Groninger Museum, Netherlands.
If you happen to be in that neck of the woods, a visit is a must!
