GUIDI, the Italian leather tannery and shoemaker, is making its second foray into the world of art by sponsoring an open art contest that will allow any aspiring or established artist to submit their work. The work of the contest’s winners will be exhibited by GUIDI in a gallery space in Berlin during the city’s next Gallery Weekend with an opening reception on April 28th, 2017.
Here is the second installment of the exclusive products that will be available at our pop-up shop. I have worked closely with all the designers on creating something special. We open tomorrow at noon!
One of the things we love at StyleZeitgeist is bringing interesting people from fashion and other cultural realms together, especially when these people are musicians. Bryan Black, known popularly as Black Asteroid has played at some of our events, and his heavy hitting industrial techno has kept us dancing more than once well into the night.
As holidays approach we wanted to share the things we love that might make good gifts.
On Monday we hosted GUIDI’s inaugural edition of IN SITU, with work by artist Laurent Segretier.

Some time ago I visited the GUIDI tannery in Italy, nestled among the hills of Tuscany. GUIDI is one of the best tanneries that still employ traditional tanning methods, such as vegetable tanning. I witnessed the processing of the hides and the finishing applied to GUIDI’s footwear and bags. Below is my photo reportage.
